CENTRAL TAXIS CHARITY PARTNER OF THE YEAR

Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity

In April 2017, Central Taxis asked our members and drivers to vote for who they wanted to be our Charity Partner of the Year. We are delighted to be able to announce that the Winner was the Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity. Known throughout Edinburgh as the Sick Kids Friends Foundation, the charity has recently undergone a rebranding with a new name and logo but their aim remains the same, ‘to transform the experiences of children and young people in hospital so they can be a child first and a patient second’.

Our Aim

As one of the Edinburgh’s largest and most visible companies, Central’s aim is not only to help raise funds to allow the invaluable work to continue, but also in raising awareness of the charity itself to our customers.

Central Taxi’s Chairman Tony Kenmuir was delighted with the winner:
“We receive many requests for charitable donations and sponsorships through the year. We are pleased to be able to support the local community and to see the amount of input from our members and drivers. I’m delighted that our first Charity Partner of the Year should be The Children’s Hospital. Nothing is dearer to us than our children and the youth of our City and I hope that both organisations will benefit and have some fun in the in the coming year from this association”

Keep an eye out on our website and social media pages where we will keep you up to date with our fundraising activities.

For now we will leave you with some words from the charity itself to describe what they do: “We believe that nothing should get in the way of being a child. We exist to transform the experiences of children and young people in hospital so they can be a child first and a patient second. We support and complement the work of Edinburgh’s Royal Hospital for Children and Young People as well as other children’s healthcare settings across the city, and across Scotland.

BECAUSE OF WHAT WE DO, CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE(S):

  • Lives are less interrupted by illness
  • Are less scared of hospital and have a positive experience
  • Families are better supported and comforted
  • Have an improved experience of healthcare in their community

We’re delighted to be partnering with Central Taxis and are excited about working together over the next year to ensure that, with their generous support, our work can continue.” Amy Ford, Community & Trusts Fundraiser.
